If the nonprofit organizations in our community are not successful in meeting their missions, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation cannot be successful in meeting its mission.

Your nonprofit organization is much more important than we are as a foundation that shares space with you in the nonprofit sector. We need you much more than you need us; we are not the ones out there doing the work in the community to improve the quality of life in Kansas City. Ultimately the Community Foundation’s sole purpose is to create success in the nonprofit sector, and that means you.

Early in 2006, we created a Nonprofit Outreach Team. We identified specific people you can call to say, "Hey, I just want a meeting. I want to talk about what’s going on in my organization. I want to give you my feedback on DonorEdge. Or, I want to meet just because."

There is always someone who will talk with you, listen to your concerns, share with you ideas, brainstorm, give you a menu of resources at the Foundation, and tell you how you can tap into some of the limited unrestricted grant making at the Foundation.
